This is the second teaching sermon in the series “equipped for ministry”. Don’t forget to listen to the first sermon titled “equipped for ministry”.
In this teaching sermon we learn that New Testament believers are called to minister to one another. This is done in a general sense by means of loving one another, being at peace with one another, building one another, etc. In Matthew 25:31-46 Jesus tells us that He expects His disciples to minister to one another in a very practical way until His second coming.
Contrary to advocates of the “social gospel”; Jesus is referring to ministry to believers and not to unbelievers. This passage helps us to understand what ministry to fellow believers look like and it helps us to remember that ministering to one another is as if we are ministering to Christ Jesus Himself.
