Don't be arrogant when you plan by leaving God out of the equation. We need to plan but we need to plan subject to God's will.
Why is preaching important?
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
Romans 10:13-15 (ESV)
Declaring the whole council of God!
In our passage the apostle Paul is facing a storm in his life which he had nothing to do with....
There are six requirements revealed in Romans 11 and 12 which the believer must abide by with regards to the use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. When we adhere to these requirements we will stand amazed as to how God will use us to minister to one another.
This is the second teaching sermon in the series "equipped for ministry". Don't forget to listen to the first sermon titled "equipped for ministry".
In this teaching sermon we learn that New Testament believers are called to minister to one another. This is done in a general sense by means of loving one another, being at peace with one another, building one another, etc. In Matthew 25:31-46 Jesus tells us that He expects His disciples to minister to one another in a very practical way until His second coming.
Contrary to advocates of the "social gospel"; Jesus is referring to ministry to believers and not to unbelievers. This passage helps us to understand what ministry to fellow believers look like and it helps us to remember that ministering to one another is as if we are ministering to Christ Jesus Himself.
The first in a mini-series on the equipping of the saints for their work of ministry.
Believers are given gifts by the Holy Spirit to use for the edification of the body of Christ. Evangelists, Pastors/teachers are given to the local body as a gift to equip the saints so they can do the work of ministry.
Why are we here?
# The “Body of Christ” metaphor is used 22 times in the writings of the apostle Paul, which makes it...
Have you experienced persecution for believing in Christ? Jesus prophesied that believers will be persecuted for their faith. In Mark 13:9 Jesus said that it is inevitable for the disciples
to be persecuted because of the message they proclaim.
The return of Christ Jesus is the most exciting event which will happen at some or other time in the future. The apostle Paul gives a comforting message to believers in his first letter to the Thessalonians. At the same time he warns unbelievers of the coming judgement when Christ returns. We are exhorted by the apostle Paul to encourage one another with the words of 1 Thessalonians 5. May this message do exactly that!
Why did God save us for Himself?
